Certified Pet Loss Specialist & Grief Coach
You may be carrying a grief that feels invisible to the world, but enormous to you. You ‘re not alone & when you’re ready…I’ll be right here
Hi! I’m Simone Marriott.
As a Certified Pet Loss Specialist…
I bring both professional training and deeply personal experience to my work.
My journey began with the loss of Moka, my soul dog, whose passing taught me the depth of grief and the tender space between holding on and letting go.
From that loss came my purpose: to walk beside grieving pet parents with compassion and understanding.
I offer a safe space, where you do not have to mask, hide or downplay your pain. My role is to walk beside you, to support your decisions, validate the emotions you carry, and help you honour that love that will always remain.
This work carries Moka’s love forward.
Meeting with me as your Pet Loss Specialist can offer you comfort, clarity, and support during one of the hardest journeys you will ever face.
If you are caring for an aging or ill pet, you may already be feeling the weight of overwhelming emotions, tough decisions, and even the isolation that comes when others do not fully understand the depth of your bond. I understand how heavy this can feel, and I will be here to steady you, listen deeply, and help you find your footing during even the most tender moments. When loss does come, I will support you and your family, as you navigate grief, create rituals of remembrance, and discover meaningful ways to carry forward the love you shared.
Society often minimizes this grief, yet for many of us, losing a beloved pet is the most profound loss of our lives.
Here, you will find a safe and compassionate space to share what is in your heart. I want you to know that your grief is real, your love matters, and you do not have to walk this path alone. Sometimes, simply being with someone who truly understands can bring a deep sense of comfort.
Together, we can gently explore quality of life concerns, end-of-life decisions, and the emotions that come with anticipatory grief. My role is to help you find clarity in those painful moments so your choices are rooted in love rather than guilt.
Most of all, my hope is that you will be able to look back on this chapter without regret. With compassion, guidance, and resources, I will walk beside you and help you honour your beloved pet’s life while finding strength and healing in your own. Your love was real, and your grief is valid.

Your Questions About Navigating Pet Grief, Answered.
-
Pets are family, routine, comfort, and unconditional love. When they die, we lose daily companionship and emotional security. That level of attachment makes the grief intense.
-
There’s no timeline. Some people begin to feel lighter in weeks; others take much longer. Healing is individual, and there is no “right” pace.
-
Guilt is common, especially around euthanasia or sudden death. It often comes from love, responsibility, and “what-if” thinking — not from wrongdoing.
-
This is called disenfranchised grief — grief that others minimize. Your grief is real even if others don’t acknowledge it.
-
There’s no perfect timing. Some people feel ready quickly; others need space. Don’t rush yourself — grief and readiness look different for everyone.
-
Phantom sounds and visual memories can happen after a deep bond. They’re usually a sign of your brain adjusting to the absence.
-
Yes. Anger can be directed at yourself, vets, circumstances, or even the illness. It’s a very normal part of grief.
-
It’s the grief you feel before the loss — when your pet is aging, declining, or approaching death. It’s normal and extremely common.
-
You don’t have to. You’re not moving on — you’re moving forward with their memory. Healing doesn’t erase connection.
-
Acknowledge the bond, validate their feelings, and avoid minimizing phrases like “he was just a dog/cat.” Show care, not solutions.
-
If your grief feels unbearable, isolating, or you’re struggling with trauma or functioning — a Therapist can help you process safely.
